The Landmark retaining wall system from Anchor Wall Systems takes performance to new heights.
The Landmark system features the patented Zero Normal Load (ZNL)™ connection technology that consists of specially formed channels in the top surface of the blocks and PVC lock bars. The lock bars, which are easily inserted into the aligned channels in a course of blocks, mechanically clamp the geosynthetic reinforcement to the units. The ZNL connection generates unsurpassed block-grid connection values, allowing designers to use 100 percent of the allowable design strength of the geosynthetic reinforcement. And, unlike other modular block systems, the highly efficient Landmark ZNL connection technology does not depend on the presence of blocks and weight above the point of connection. This is especially relevant in seismic areas where vertical accelerations can reduce the available confining stress.
A flange on the bottom of each Landmark block (except the base course block) locks into the blocks below to create high course-to-course shear and toppling resistance.
Another important feature of the Landmark system is the incorporation of open horizontal cores through the blocks. The cores of the blocks line up to form an open horizontal passageway through each course of the wall facing. Structural steel can be placed in these passageways for direct anchorage of the facing units with soil nails or other tieback systems. This patented feature makes Landmark an excellent choice as a facing system for applications where excavation for reinforcement placement is not possible.
The "vertical" aspect of the Landmark block faces presents a refreshing, new look to modular block retaining walls. The textured face of the units creates a free-form in-and-out stagger to the wall face, replicating natural rock formations. The blocks cast shadows that accent the overall presentation of the wall.
For superior performance in tall and high-load-bearing wall applications, difficult soil conditions, transportation and seismic zone applications, and a unique appearance, the choice is the Anchor Landmark system.
