FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Pittsburgh Corning LightWise® Glass Block Windows
Offer Easy Installation and New Look
PITTSBURGH, PA - Pittsburgh Corning has redesigned its popular LightWise® Glass Block Window to include many new features for even easier, hassle-free installation. While still featuring the beauty and durability of real glass, all sizes of the new LightWise Glass Block Window are 20 percent lighter than the original LightWise Window introduced in 1998.
Pittsburgh Corning introduced its LightWise Window line of pre-assembled vinyl frame windows constructed with Pittsburgh Corning Glass Block to provide builders, remodelers and DIYers with an easy-to-install glass block window. New features include:
- 2-inch glass block instead of 3 inch for lighter weight and easier handling.
- Setback nailing fins for use with stucco and other standard finishes. Nail fins can be removed for renovation installations.
- Flat face design creates a tighter perimeter seal and is easier to clean.
LightWise Glass Block Windows feature glass block in a white or sandstone vinyl frame. Homeowners can specify the popular Decora® or the new IceScapes® patterns. Each glass block style offers varying degrees of privacy and light transmission. The use of silicone bonding between the blocks provides a dramatic "all glass" look creating a window with a great deal of aesthetic and functional value for the homeowner.
Assembled at the factory, LightWise Glass Block Windows are shipped ready to install. The glass block window installs like a traditional pane glass window. Placed into the opening, the window is quickly anchored with its built-in nailing fin.
LightWise Glass Block Windows are available in 78 sizes, and can be ordered from any authorized Pittsburgh Corning Glass Block distributor, home center, pro dealer or lumberyard.
